International Marian Shrines postcards, beginning ca. 1909 beginning ca. 1950

The collection contains approximately 28,000 postcards depicting Marian Shrines from around the world. The most substantially represented countries in the collection include Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United States. The earliest postcards in the collection date from circa 1909, but the bulk of the collection dates from circa 1950's to the present day. The images are primarily photographic, but the collection also includes postcard prints of illustrations, paintings, and other artistic mediums. Some postcards have handwritten notes with postmarks or handwritten identification on the verso. Additionally, there are some photographs throughout. The repository continues to add materials to this collection.
